50,000 to 60,000 per annum plus Superannuation

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the company as a Pressure Welder (on a Full time basis) to help meeting the demands and help in its success and growth.The role requires the services of an highly experienced/qualified pressure welder to perform welding in boilers, pressure vessels and pipes by joining and fabricating metal sections, tools, components, beams and fittings while following safety standards in oil, gas and construction industry.

The role and responsibilities include

  • Derive requirements for projects using blueprints and drawings and formulate a work-flow segment for effective project management;
  • Depending on the size and project requirement, select materials from a selection of stocks then prepare them for production by cleaning and cutting them to size per blueprints & drawings instruction;
  • Perform welding and fabrication on metal sections, parts, pipes and fittings that complies with industry standard, company procedures, and quality control;
  • Cut parts and sections of metal following the marked lines derived from blueprints & drawings;
  • Safely use manual or semi-automatic cutting equipment like metal laser, shear/beam shear, guillotine and etc.;
  • Shape metal section or bend parts to accomplish standard or customized client requirement;
  • Connect parts, sections of metal or pipes to form a pre-set & measured assembly;
  • Perform bolting, riveting on joint parts & sections to secure sturdiness of material;
  • Always conduct quality during welds and after check to streamline project results;
  • Conduct cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions for all finished welds;
  • Repair worn out parts or sections by welding, fabrication, and replacing material;
  • Strictly adhere to industry standard, company welding procedures, and quality control check at all times; and
  • Demonstrate a consistent high standard of workmanship resulting to quality and accurate materials;
  • Perform all other duties & responsibilities required by Supervisor & Management.

Required skills and ability to be considered for this role

  • Trade qualifications - Certificate III or Certificate IV in Welding and fabrication or at least three years of relevant experience
  • Vast working knowledge in welding, fabrication, and fitting methods/techniques
  • Competent in ARC MIG & TIG welding
  • Ability to use various tools/equipment and machinery for fabrication such as press brakes, folders, rawhide mallet, hammers, sandbag, bending presses, guillotines, thermal cutting equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical models of blueprint, drawings, and instructions for projects
  • Ability to receive instruction and take initiative as needed
  • Superior communication skills
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Meticulous attention to details
