What we are looking for?

We are seeking a Planning and Environment Support Officer to join our Statutory Planning Department who will be responsible for providing customer service and administrative support for the Statutory Planning Department. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide prompt and efficient customer service by attending front reception, answering telephone enquiries and responding to email enquiries.
  • Provide guidance on Council’s Planning services to residents and other customers.
  • Develop positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Investigate and resolve general customer enquiries by using acquired knowledge and information contained in Council’s corporate systems.
  • Undertake an extensive range of administrative duties to facilitate the planning permit process.
  • Maintain Council’s corporate systems with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure administrative duties are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Participate and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Support and provide knowledge in the use of corporate systems and technologies, assisting other team members where required.

About you

  • You will have administration experience within a local government context, preferably in planning or an allied area or in the development approvals industry.
  • Post-secondary qualification in Local Government Administration and/or Planning, or training courses in such would be highly regarded.
